Who are the Friends of the Athens Public Library and what do they do?
We are a group who promote our local library and advocate and support its many services to the community of Athens. We draw public attention to the resources available and lend financial and moral aid when needed. Throughout the year we invite guest authors to speak, sponsor book readings, do some fundraising, promote Library Week, and much more. We believe that everyone should have the freedom to read.

Membership is open to all who support the objectives of the Friends. We meet three times per year (January, May and September) with the odd meeting in between when needed. If you are interested in becoming a member please contact one of the undersigned or simply ask one of our librarians for information.
